Terms of Use
Important: TrialTrack is a research support tool, not a medical device and not a source of medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat, or monitor any condition. Always follow the instructions given to you by the study team and your own healthcare provider.
1. Acceptance
By signing in to TrialTrack you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app and contact the study team.
2. Who may use TrialTrack
TrialTrack is provided free of charge, and only to adults who have been enrolled as participants in the RCT Dairy Nutrition Study and issued credentials by the research team. Accounts are personal. Do not share your participant ID or password, and do not let anyone else use your account.
3. Your responsibilities
- Record your study data honestly and as promptly as you can.
- Keep your credentials confidential, and tell the study team immediately if you think someone else has used your account.
- Use the messaging feature for study-related communication with the research team only.
- Do not upload content that is unlawful, abusive, or that infringes someone else's rights, and do not upload another person's personal or health information.
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, disrupt it, reverse engineer it, or use automated means to interact with it.
4. Study participation
Your participation in the study is governed by the informed consent form you signed and by the study protocol approved by the University of Saskatchewan Research Ethics Board. Those documents take precedence over these terms in anything concerning the research itself. Participation is voluntary and you may withdraw at any time without penalty.
5. No medical advice
Content in the app — including schedules, reminders, FAQs, and messages from the study team — relates to the conduct of the study. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for professional care. If you have a health concern, contact the study team or your healthcare provider. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of the messages and attachments you send. You grant the research team permission to store and use that content for the purposes of running the study and providing support, as described in the privacy policy and your consent form.
7. Rewards and points
Points shown in the app reflect study participation as defined by the study protocol. They have no cash value, are not transferable, and any compensation associated with participation is governed by your consent form, not by these terms.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep TrialTrack available, but the service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. We may change or discontinue features, and we may suspend access to accounts that are misused or that belong to participants who have left the study.
9. Privacy
Our handling of your information is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Disclaimer and liability
TrialTrack is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the research team and the University of Saskatchewan are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or any rights you have as a research participant.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version, and material changes will be communicated to participants through the app or by the contact route used during enrolment.
